make out sesh with 141 guys pls??? 🥺🙏🏽🛐
A make out session? Oh, yes please. I will say, thank you for leaving the prompt open. I was able to completely run with it and make it my own. I really hope what I’ve cooked up is satisfying. It was fun putting this together! You’ve got some undercover work and pretending not to know each other, to deny feelings and then admitting feelings, to being sold to pay off a debt (dubcon on this one), and a brief pretend relationship.

Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
“Come here.”
Kyle grabs your wrist and pulls you in the opposite direction. You spin into him, his other arm going about your waist.
“What are you doing?” you ask, volume spiking slightly in surprise.
“Follow my lead,” he murmurs, backing you into a dark corner of the packed bar.
The roar of the crowd is loud, but with Kyle caging you in, it all seems to dampen a little, as if the two of you are in your own world.
“Kiss me,” he says.
“What?”
“We need to blend in.” Kyle turns slightly, glancing over his shoulder., checking the room. “Kiss me,” he insists, lowering his head until the tip of his nose brushes against yours.
Kyle is leading this mission. It’s not like you to question orders, but you also aren’t sure what it is he notices in the crowd.
“Okay,” you mutter, grasping the back of his neck to pull him close.
Closing the distance, you press your lips to Kyle’s, expecting him to remain emotionless and passive. But he surprises, subverts your expectations. Kyle melts under your kiss, returning with more enthusiasm than with what you offered. You’re momentarily surprised, and in that opening, Kyle advances, turning the simple kiss into something more.
His tongue delves, and you taste him.
For a moment, you forget that you’re on a mission, and that this is Kyle, your coworker and teammate. A little moan escapes you, and Kyle responds by placing his hand on your ass, squeezing tightly, forcing you to remain still as he goes in for more.
Time stretches, and the sounds of the packed bar become distant memory. All you know is Kyle. All you understand is the feel of his hands and the way he devours you.
You’re completely lost. Spiraling. Slipping—
Kyle breaks away, and the loss is agony. His chest heaves, lips slightly puffy from your kisses. He laughs. Smirks. Rests his head against yours.
“Got lost there,” he whispers, and your heart flutters.
“Me too,” you affirm, wanting to say more.
Kyle draws back. Glancing over his shoulder again, he checks the room.
“Gone. Good. We can go.”
No, you think. Why can’t we stay here?
John Price
“Go on, doll. Sit in his lap.”
Hovering between remaining still or doing as your told, you glance at Captain Price for guidance. The man is your superior even if you don’t directly take orders from him. But in this moment, he’s not Captain Price, is he? He’s a customer sitting with a man looking to swap drugs for weapons. And you’re supposed to be a hired dancer.
When you agreed to the undercover mission, you expected to shake your ass, maybe even grind in a few laps. Ultimately, you’re there to listen and observe. Yet the target developed a liking to you, bought you so that you’d come dance for him privately.
And now he’s telling you to go sit in Price’s lap.
“Hey! You listening to me?” The target, Damon, snaps his fingers to get your attention. If you weren’t undercover, you’d punch him in his fucking face. “Go sit in his lap. I’m not paying you for fucking laughs.”
You try to give him your best smile but it comes out a grimace. Obediently, you turn, moving toward Captain Price, hips swaying languidly. You’re practically naked right now. Just platform heels, a thong, and a shiny bikini top that barely covers your nipples.
Captain Price watches you intently, and though he retains eye contact, his gaze slips a few times, moving downward before quickly snapping back up again.
With exaggerated movements, you kneel slowly, straddling his lap as you settle in his lap. Price keeps his arms outstretched over the back of the sofa, but his gaze never leaves your face.
“Sorry,” you whisper, because you know Damon can’t see.
Price remains silent.
Damon laughs. “Give him a kiss, doll.”
You inhale deeply, eyes closing as you do so. On the exhale, you open them, waiting for Price to give some sort of clue.
And he does.
It’s so small you won’t even notice unless you were looking for it.
Placing your hands on Price’s chest, you lean forward seductively, popping your ass out and arching your back. You press your lips to his. You expect him to remain passive and unmoving, but Price surprises you, grasping the back of your head to pull you in.
“Give the man some tongue,” Damon shouts over the music.
You want to turn around and hurl something at the idiot, but you comply, hands settling on the top of Price’s shoulders as you go in for more kisses. Price doesn’t push back or resist. If anything, he indulges each one, matching the energy and intensity. He tastes like whiskey and of the cigar he just smoked.
There is no end to it, only Price’s mouth, and the feeling of his hands as he brings them in to touch and caress. It’s not so out of place, there are two other dancers in the room, one of them is likely going down on Damon based on the wet slurping sounds you hear.
But all becomes too much—too intense—and you have to draw back to catch your breath. There is no anger in Price’s face, if anything, you find something unfamiliar.
A hunger.
Desire in those blue irises.
John "Soap" MacTavish
Every pounding step you take shepherds you away from Johnny. Beneath your skin is a buzzing as if your bones and blood vibrate.
“Slow down.”
Johnny’s voice is sharp and desperate. But you do not slow down. How can you? You can’t face him.
He yells your name and the urge to glance back is agony. Yet you remain steadfast.
“Fucking—bloody hell. Slow down.”
As you turn the corner, the exit appears, your freedom moments from reality.
You’re so close.
So—
A large hand grabs your upper arm. You’re yanked backward, dragged into a nearby conference room. Johnny shuts the door and pushes you up against the wall. He has one hand planted firmly against the wall next to your head and the other on your waist. His hips press against yours.
“I hate it when you run,” he growls.
“You didn’t have to follow.”
Johnny chuckles and shakes his head in disbelief. “Just admit it.”
“Admit what?” you snap.
He presses in even more, casting you completely in shadow. “How much you want me,” he murmurs, voice an inviting croon.
There is a wanton nature in you. It craves Johnny like a bird craves to soar with the wind.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you gasp.
It’s a lie. You do know.
The desire to close the distance, to press your lips to his is undeniable.
“Don’t lie,” he says, creating no room for movement.
Johnny rests his forehead against yours, the tip of his nose brushing your cheekbone. His warm breath teases your skin, dancing across your flesh. There is only a fraction of space, and all you need to do is tip your face upward, to present yourself to him.
“Johnny,” you whimper, and he groans in response.
“I know you love me,” he whispers, but he’s not really saying it to you, almost like he’s trying to affirm what he already knows. “You love me.”
Don’t deny yourself.
I know you love me.
“This doesn’t mean anything,” you reply softly.
Johnny smiles as he closes the distance. The first kiss sends an electrical shot through your system. The connection is instant, a driving force that has your body stirring. Hands move to Johnny’s abdomen, circling to his lower back, pressing to get him even closer.
Each one is deep and suffocating. There is hunger in each one, but it’s the moment his teeth snag your bottom lip that you surrender entirely. Opening, Johnny slides his tongue inside, and you moan for him.
That one sound ignites something in him. Johnny’s hand against the wall drops, coming to rest at the base of your throat. He presses, shoving you harder against the wall and he claims your mouth. His other hand travels to your thigh, squeezes.
You’re grasping for him too, fingers digging into clothes and skin, wanting—no—needing him closer, as if you could fuse your bodies together forever. When you push against him, Johnny retaliates with pressure on your neck. You gasp, breaking the kiss, only for Johnny to go in and gently suckle on your tongue.
“Now,” he murmurs. “Tell me again that you don’t want me.”
Simon "Ghost" Riley
“I’ve come to pay off my father’s debt.”
A pause. Then—
“He’s already paid.”
You frown. “That’s impossible.”
“Are you saying I’m lying?”
“No,” you say quickly. “Never. Just—”
“The debt is paid.”
It’s impossible. Entirely unlikely. Your father is too much of a drunken risktaker to have paid off his debt to Ghost so swiftly. There’s something else going on. A deal, maybe. But you have the money—in cash—he can’t say no to you.
“But I brought the money,” you insist.
Ghost falls back against the cushioned lounge sofa, one arm resting along the back as he observers you from behind the balaclava. All you can see are his brown eyes, and you cannot read his expression.
“What makes you think I’ll take it?” he asks slowly.
Behind you is a black curtain. This area of the club is VIP. The fact that you were let back here at all is a miracle.
“Because I know my father didn’t pay off the debt in cash. He had to have paid some other way.” You twist slightly, opening up your bag to reach for the money. “And I’m here to clear it.”
Finding what you’re after, you present it, holding out in front of you boldly. It’s the only language men like Ghost understand.
He’s not looking at the cash at all, but at you. “You’re right. Your father didn’t pay with cash.”
“Then you can take it.”
You purposefully avoid making it a question. In this, must insist. Ghost could come after not just your father, but you. If you’re lucky, he might take some possessions. Worst case, your life.
Ghost casually spreads his legs, and lightly taps is thigh. “Come here. Sit.”
You blink. “Take the money,” you insist again, an exasperation leaking into your tone.
He chuckles, low and deep and harsh like whiskey. “No. But I’ll take you.”
Your arm starts to hurt, and that little ache weakens the muscles, causing your arm to drop slightly. “I’m not on offer.”
“You were when your father came to see me.”
No. No.
“You lie,” you whisper.
“And I accepted,” he says like it’s a non-issue. “Always had a bit of a soft spot of you anyway.”
Unbelieving, you move forward, this time holding the cash out like a weapon. The two bodyguards on either side of him move forward but Ghost raises his hand. They halt immediately, hands on their weapons and gazes focused in on you.
“Take the fucking money,” you growl.
This time, you see the smirk behind the balaclava. It’s in the way the skin around his eyes wrinkles slightly. Ghost finds this amusing.
When he says nothing, you throw the cash down on the table, and turn your back on him. It’s not smart to give a man like Ghost your back, but you’re pissed. You charge forward, intending to stomp right through the curtains and out of the club. But his bodyguards move to block your path, barring the exit.
“Let me through.”
“I told you,” Ghost calls out. “Your father paid his debt.”
You whirl, trudging forwarding, walking around the table to get as close to him as you can. “I will not—”
Before the sentence is even out of your mouth, Simon is grabbing your hips, yanking you into his lap.
“There,” he coos. “Just as I told you to do.”
You’re too stunned to move. Too surprised to speak. Here you are, straddling this man’s lap, his hands boldly grasping your ass, his gaze—interested.
Your mouth opens. Shuts. Opens again.
“Let—let me go.”
Ghost shakes his head. “Too late for that. You’re mine now.”
When he says mine, his hands lightly squeeze your ass and then drag downward to do the same to your thighs.
He glances over your shoulder, his expression becoming dangerous. “Leave us,” he commands, and the bodyguards disappear.
Ghost’s brow smooths, and then his tone shifts to a familiarity that makes you shiver. “Now that you belong to me, how about a kiss?”
“I’d rather kiss a donkey,” you snap, and Ghost laughs.
“Think you’ll find kissing me more pleasant.”
You scoff, but Ghost’s hands squeeze again, his pelvis lightly grinding against you.
“Go on,” he whispers, voice enticing and welcoming. “Push up the mask. Let me taste you.”
This violent man isn’t to be trusted. And you shouldn’t. You really shouldn’t. But your hands move up his chest, traveling to the balaclava, fingers curling under the edge. Lifting slightly, you reveal his neck. It’s covered in tattoos, and as you bring the balaclava higher, you find scars and then—his mouth.
Ghost licks his lips, and a stirring heat rises in you. He leans in, and you find yourself giving in.
“I won’t be your whore,” you murmur as you descend.
“No,” agrees Ghost. “You’ll be so much more.”
When your mouth meets his, it’s nothing more than a kiss. Simple. Clean. No teeth or tongue. Just two people closing the distance. He is not tentative though, and when he goes for another, you accept without hesitation. That seems to be the shift, the thing that changes him.
With a low growl, Ghost drags you entirely against him, and there is no subtlety in it. He claims your mouth repeatedly, stealing your breath, making you question everything you know about yourself. A man this dangerous shouldn’t cause such emotion. It shouldn’t make your pussy wet or for your stomach to flip.
But he keeps kissing, and kissing, until you’re grinding against him, meeting Ghost with equal need. And when his tongue teases your lips, you happily open for him, tasting him as much as he tastes you. Each time you try to pull away, to catch your breath and create some distance, Ghost is pulling you in again, and you allow it.
Your father’s debt is paid.
And it’s you.

It’s pointless if you don’t know the reason

Part 8 <- Part 9 -> Part 10
The Chairman wades in and Jinwoo is in the dog house again.

<<< Or back to this fic's Master list. >>>
EDIT - I have only watched the anime and haven't gotten round to reading the manhwa yet. Please refrain from spoilers.
“It’s fantastic to see you both. I hope you don’t mind me dropping by, I simply couldn’t wait to congratulate you.”
Jinwoo watched the Chairman closely, his whole stance was wrong, the gentle look he gave you was wrong. The way he confidently sat on the living room sofa with his fingers laced together was smug and utterly wrong. Jinwoo just couldn’t place it.
“Thank you, Chairman.” Did you know that something was off too? You held your stomach as though on instinct, looking down at the floor like you had something to feel shameful for.
“Twins…” The chairman smiled without Jin-chul accompanying him this time, he was close by no doubt. “It’s such wonderful news, I was hopeful we’d have an anomaly such as this when the programme got on its way years down the line. But seeing it on the second try truly is a marvel.”
“It’s quite a shock, Chairman. Our apologies that we couldn’t tell you ourselves.” You edged closer to Jinwoo, subtly enough though the Chairman caught it instantly.
“That’s quite alright. But this does beg the question now that you’ll let the association hold a celebration for you. Twin babies ought to be celebrated.”
You made it adamantly clear when your pregnancy came to fruition that you did not want the fuss that came with it. However, the choice might not be in your hands.
“Chairman-“
“With all due respect, Chairman.” Jinwoo stepped in before you could, saying your name with authority. “She made it clear that she didn’t want a celebration, I trust you can understand the pressure she’s under to remain calm and well rested as per the association’s Doctor’s recommendations.”
Despite the squabbling and bickering from the hospital to the front door, Jinwoo’s priorities had shifted somewhat. It wasn’t just you now that this compulsion had over grown like ivy, it was towards the babies too. By the hour-no, the minute, his mind was overtaking itself at levels he wasn’t sure how to comprehend.
“I understand that. But as this is your duty, it’s made you National heroes.”
So the Chairman would go down a pushy route? It went against everything Jinwoo knew him by. It put his back up, sharp and pointing right at the Chairman’s face. This was what his new state of mind did to people that weren’t you.
In other words, he’d kill the Chairman right now if he threatened your life and he’d feel no remorse for it either.
A dangerous sentiment. But Jinwoo did not care.
“Chairman, I’m very tired. I would like to respectfully decline.”
“Of course you are, you’re growing two very special children inside you. That takes plenty of energy. I simply won’t have you worrying over anything, so I’ll handle this myself and inform you of all the details at a later date.”
Huh? What did he just say?
The Chairman rose to his feet and traipsed on over to the front door, where conveniently, Jin-chul was waiting right outside.
“I’ll see you two very soon, though be sure to pay Hunter Cha a visit soon, she could use the company.” And then he left, leaving Jin-chul in the hallway.
He slipped off his sunglasses and tucked them inside his breast pocket. “A word of advice? Play the long game and entertain him. Korea is the first of the many countries to participate in this programme, and the first produce twins as a part of it. By the way those two are producing mana the way they are, it’s more than just an anomaly, it’s a mystery… and the Chairman is hopeful that this union will give the association an edge.”
“These babies aren't weapons.” Jinwoo had to hold you back, hoping to keep the crazed look in your sudden maternal eyes.
Jin-chul didn’t seem the least bit phased. “Not weapons. Just a statement. If those children are born at B-Rank or above without having an awakening, high officials all over the world will want to see. Just bear that in mind. Heed my advice, or don’t, it’s your choice, but one choice will make life easier and the other won’t.”
Jinwoo glared at him as he turned and walked away with his hands smoothly in his pockets. Just what was the Chairman up to? Did Jong-in and Hae-in have this tak with the Chairman too? He had to find out, he needed to understand the larger picture, but his gut told him to do it the old fashioned way and not entertain the idea of posting a shadow onto the Chairman under any circumstances. He just wasn’t sure why.
“Why do they want to put babies on display- just to say ‘hey, we have more than you’, like, really? Jinwoo, I don’t like this. And the Chairman wants to parade us in front of everyone just because I’m pregnant now."
“I feel the same way.” He sat you down on the sofa, kneeling in front of you with his hand reassuringly on your knee. “I want you to rest though, can you do that? I need to see Jong-in, ask him a few questions…”
Would you snap at him again if he asked? Only one way to find out.
“Can I leave Igris here with you? I’d feel better if I did.”
“Jinwoo, I don’t…” you hesitated, the agonising drawn out pause by the way you looked at him took forever. “Okay… just- can I meet him first?”
“Y-yeah, uh, you can meet him.” Jinwoo swallowed hard and paused, thinking of all the ways this could go wrong, yet did it anyway. “Igris, come out and introduce yourself.”
He did, delicately showing himself like undisturbed smoke, billowing into his form to kneel. His head lowered deeper than anything he’d ever done before.
That’s odd. He never thought to address it, though Igris had never kneeled to anyone other than Jinwoo.
“Hello, Igris.” There was only normality in your voice, not fear or awkwardness. Just normality, watching the humanoid shadow kneel.
Like a knight kneeling before his queen.
Jinwoo watched you closely, knowing he’d fallen for the right person, the perfect woman to start a family with, and his shadows welcomed it.
“He can’t speak, but I can tell he enjoys your presence.”
“Oh, right. Well, it’s nice to meet you, Igris.”
Igris dropped his head lower in acknowledgement, holding firm with a form of respect Jinwoo had never received.
You hesitated, placing a hand on Jinwoo's. “Actually… can I come with you? It would be nice to see how Hae-in is doing. She’s pretty much on her own over there.”
“Are you sure?”
There was a high possibility that Jong-in was over there right now and Jinwoo didn’t think he could sit through an hour of that man hovering about.
“Mhm, if I’m terrified about all this, I can only imagine how she must be feeling.”
While your sentiment was admirable, Jinwoo’s inability to make you more at ease snapped away at him. He was trying to be as accommodating as he could within reason, and you were still terrified, as you put it. Would seeing Jong-in make matters worse? Jinwoo never stopped and thought long and hard whether Jong-in was a stepping stone closer to you.
Long story short, would Jong-in’s presence make you feel things towards him that you never admitted to Jinwoo’s face?
Jinwoo wanted to limit your interactions with him going forward, to preserve his relationship with you. It wasn’t that Jinwoo felt threatened, but Jong-in’s presence didn’t help settle things. He couldn’t exactly forbid you though, could he? Your reaction to Igris was a plain and unmistakable reminder of how strong willed you were.
Against his better judgement, Jinwoo agreed. “Alright. We’ll head over now.”
“Thanks, Jinwoo.”
Hae-In opened the door cautiously when you knocked, she peered through the gap and opened it once she realised who it was.
“Oh… hello, Jinwoo.” She addressed you first, but bashfully watched Jinwoo exclusively. “What are you both doing here?”
“We wanted to see how you were doing, and need to ask you a few things, if you’re up for it?” You said, stepping through the doorway into the apartment.
“Me? You might be better asking Jong-in. I’m not sure how useful I’ll be, my brains all over the place lately.”
“It’s alright, it’s just a few quick things that we aren’t sure of.”
“Oh, is it baby stuff? Because I’m still finding out myself, the morning sickness is really bad. You went for your scan today, didn’t you? Jong-in told me about it.”
How the hell did Jong-in find out?
“Well,” you looked away and sat yourself down in the sofa. “It went alright, just a little shock but-“
“We’re having twins.”
You gasped though tried to keep it in, you never stifled your emotions well and this time was no different. Jinwoo knew how Hae-in felt about him and he didn’t care what the outcome was.
“Right… well I think a congratulations are in order, Jong-in will be pleased with the news.”
“Hae-in- I’m so sorry- Jinwoo- You glared at him. But the damage had already been done.
Jinwoo just had to rip off the bandaid to ensure she moved past the feelings she held for Jinwoo, and crushed them under his foot. Jinwoo would never return those feelings and was better she got it out of her system.
“So…” Hae-in smiled as best she could. “Twins, huh? Maybe that’s why I sensed that odd aura when you came through the door.” She chuckled to hide her pain.
Jinwoo could tell that it upset you, the fact an acquaintance and fellow hunter could sense the babies and you couldn’t.
You swallowed back it well enough.“The Chairman’s taking a liking to us after finding out and we wanted to know what he’s been like with you and the baby. Has Hunter Woo come by at all?”
“He’s been around, but not too involved. The Chairman was happy at first, but since he found out you were pregnant, we haven’t really seen him.”
So he’s flitting between pregnancies? Or looking for one in particular? The babies mana might be something to keep an eye on, no doubt he would have picked up on it if Hae-in has.
Jinwoo contemplated confronting the Chairman directly, but as more and more hunters would inevitably fall pregnant, he assumed for now that the Chairman would follow suit and move on. For now at least.
“Was he pushy in having the announcement dinner? He wants to make a big deal out of this and to be honest, I just want to get the next nine months out of the way and going public is the last thing I want.”
It was wrong that Jinwoo wanted to go public, more so that he could rub it in the faces of everyone who either talked down at his previous E-Rank, those who wanted you, or wanted Jinwoo away from you. It wasn’t clear yet who did, if there was anyone, but still, Jinwoo wanted it that way.
“I wouldn’t say he was pushy, but before I fell pregnant, he did sit down and talk to us about being a little more…” she searched for the word. “Intimate? But I think it was a publicity thing or something like that.”
“Right…” you said, standing up and straightening yourself out. “Thank you, Hae-in. Sorry you found out about the babies like that.”
Jinwoo knew your eyes were burning into him. “If you need us, you know where we are… I need to have a lie down, it’s been a long day.”
You left before Hae-in could even utter a word, stomping off towards the front door, you zipped around Igris who was waiting by the door without another word. Jinwoo called out to you once the door closed behind him. He knew you went straight to the bedroom but called out anyway.
“Don’t start! I’m not happy with you, at all!”
Igris turned and looked away from Jinwoo, heading off towards the living area in some form of protest.
He knew what he’d done wrong, he just never thought he’d get this type of response. He could put it down to pregnancy hormones, though you’d only deal more damage to him.
And it would kill him if you gave him the silent treatment.
I guess I'll go grovel.

21 Nov Update: asks are now open, so you will have another way to reach me other than tagging me and commenting on my posts. Previously I receive an average of 80-100 asks per day, so likely I will not be able to see everyone's ask (also I still have more than 4000 asks in my inbox). Direct messages are still closed.
Hi everyone. For now I have closed my messages and my ask inbox (I realize that people who have sent me messages before can still send me messages, but I will not be checking my messages). I'm sorry that this will be a disappointment to some people.
This decision is made after several days of deliberation. I have recently received some messages that upset me so much I cried the entire night and led me to this decision. I just want to say here I'm just one person trying to help people to the best of my abilities. I am sharing palestinian gofundmes on my free time with no personal gain of my own. I'm extremely overwhelmed with the amount of requests I've received. As of writing I have 99+ unread messages and more than 4700 asks in my inbox. I have limited time and energy and I am not able to complete all requests that are asked of me. Some people are angry at me (and other accounts) because some campaigns get more attention than others and do better than others. Again, while we want to help everyone, we have limited time and energy. We are not perfect at this because we are humans with emotions, not machines.
Of course, I'm still encouraging everyone to share and donate to Gaza gofundme campaigns. And just to be clear, most of the interactions I've received are positive. And also, I just want to say that even if palestinians say something that is a little rude or something you don't like, they are still deserving of help. Nobody deserves to live through a genocide, nobody deserves to starve or face frequent bombings every day. I understand why they are angry and frustrated, they are only human.
Still, I am also only human. I am feeling extremely overwhelmed, and unfortunately, this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I have been doing this every single day for more than 3 months now. I also have a personal life outside of this.
And hence, messages and asks are now closed. Maybe I'll open them again when I'm feeling more calm, but for now they are closed. I will still be sharing gaza gfm campaigns, but not as much as before. I hope you understand.

I love how you characterise Zhongli! I didn't realise earlier that ppl treat him to be like a western dragon when hes more of an eastern one. When you explained the differences in one post, it clicked for me on how Zhongli acts, which is fantastic cus Ive always been meh abt his character for quite some time.
Though a question: the game has depicted zhongli to be somewhat broke? I mean, cus he generously spends mora but its usually other ppls since he forgets he is no longer an archon. Heck i cant rmb which event but at one point when Zhongli actually treats the traveller and Paimon, Paimon comments abt "wow Zhongli is the one paying for once?". Im wondering abt your opinion on this.
Aaaaa I'm so glad my little essay on that matter got you to understand his character better! <3333 I hope you appreciate him even more now~
Going off canon material, it's not that he's broke, per se, but rather that he just forgets to bring his wallet with him on outings. Plus, he's part of the bourgeois tier of society (middle class, wealthy, but not royalty-level filthy rich; but still elite and way above the working class). This was mentioned in a line in the Liyue AQ.
Canon text has never actually stated (or even implied) that he's broke or doesn't have money, that's just a popular fanon meme.
If one wants to argue that his 2022 birthday art implies he's broke, I'd still disagree. His dialogue there just says that having a wallet makes him more mindful of when to spend and how much, not that he doesn't have Mora in the first place.
And yeah, when Paimon comments on him finally paying, that's just because he remembered to bring his wallet :) every other occasion, as I stated before, is just that he didn't bring his wallet, relying freely on others to do the paying.
Besides, he made the Mora. I think he has every right to consider even other people's money as his own, lol- but I digress.
If I may slot in a personal headcanon here: I reckon that, as the God of Wealth, he just naturally attracts money to use for himself in any circumstance, be it through his own money, Hu Tao, Childe, the Traveler, etc. He will never be left wanting for Mora as he will always be able to pay for the things he likes, or straight up finesse his way into getting stuff without needing to pay (like the part with the painted Rex Lapis fans).
#sini answers#THANK YOU#both for reading my previous essay thingy#and also for bringing this up!#i hope i was able to clarify! <3#i'd pull citations from the text but i cant be bothered to comb through the files#but i promise the things i say are based off canon material#might append some screenshots/citations later#thanks again!#mwah#zhongli

SO, DO I CLICK HERE?
synopsis: for one and other reason your gonna teach this three boys how to order food via app, how will it go?

🖱️izuku
eager to learn how to use the app. but embarrassed that he doesn't know how it works, though he really gives his best and pays attention to your explanation. he had probably been the one who suggested to use it and asked if you could teach him.
when the food arrives without further problem, he's more than satisfied and impressed. if there's been a mistake in anything you ordered, he'd brush it off and go on without making a fuss.

🖱️katsuki
eager to get the fucking food right now. but still stubborn about not knowing how it works and saying he'd better make the food himself and it will be one hundred times better than the one they'll get for you.
when the food arrives safely and correctly, he'd finally tone down his reluctive attitude and may even consider the fact he didn't got tired by being the one making the day's food. if it did not, better pray for the deliverer and the restaurant's popularity.

🖱️hitoshi
eager to eat and then sleep. so teach him quick, order and maybe take a nap while the food comes? ok no, but he's a good listener and student so he'd learn fast.
when the food arrives in a good state, he'll be over the moon and will start ordering via app almost four times per week. eventually if there's any mistake, he'd probably be understanding and depending on his mood and the food he recieved, he'd re-order or eat it away.

notes: hey everyone... how ya'll doing... OKAY, SO. I've been writing like crazy these past couple of days and I explained it in a post before but I just want to let everyone know that I'm a little busy with life, finding a remote stable job (or a job at all at this point) is a little hard, especially when the only thing you do succesfully is being a writer lmao. so I've been focusing on that instead of this but!!! I'm almost done with this chapter. I do think we're getting a chapter five, a shorter one, just to kind of explain how everything goes after the end of chapter four and that's going to be cooking as soon as this chapter goes live! ANYWAY. I wanted to give you all a little teaser that covers a little of what's to come in this one. it's my favorite one so far, too, so I'm really looking forward to you reading it!
remember that I have a permanent taglist form! that way, i can tag you in all my future works <3 also, if you'e reading this on the tags, here's my main masterlist and the mbc!masterlist if you want to catch up!
thank you all for being so patient and into the teaser we go.
Making a mental list to organize and prioritize everything you need to do, you barely register footsteps echoing in the long hall. You should’ve, because it’s lunchtime and there’s no one on the floor, but you don’t.
And so when the person you least want to see comes through the door and lets out a heavy sigh, you turn to him like he grew a second nose over the course of the twenty minutes you last saw each other.
“I hate it here, I truly do.”
It almost makes you want to laugh, but you remain stoic as you move through the office. You take a few boxes and you put them down on the floor until there’s some light leaking through the window and illuminating the space enough for it not to give you a headache as you work.
Sitting on your brother's chair, barely sparing him another glance before turning on the desk computer and pulling up an empty document. You click and tap a few meaningless things: You pick the font, you mess with the font size for a second before setting it back to its default. Anything to help you look busy and not like your heart is going a million miles per second.
“Can I help you with anything, Yunho?”
Blurry, in the background, you can see him look around the office, probably taking the mess in. He moves too, walks until his expensive shoes are tip to tip with a literal mannequin resting against the wall.
You stop paying attention as you write the date and the proposal title. Something simple, something that both your father and the CEO of the dumb not-approved-by-you company that has you in this predicament can understand. You hate to say that you assume they’re not very smart if they put out such a dated and non profitable idea for their company.
Still, you try to address Yunho like nothing’s bothering you and like you’re not nervous you two are in a room alone after everything that went down.
“You can ask Seonghwa what that means,” you start, sighing like his friend and your brother are hopeless. Because maybe that’s what they are. “They’re not running any ideas by me even though I’m the one that spends the most time in this office, so.”
“Hm,” he starts and you can hear him walking around, but your focus is now on the first few words of the proposal. You realize there’s really nothing you can start before speaking with marketing and so you open the notes app, to have a list of ideas to run through them at least. “Thought you worked from home.”
“I do. I have an office three floors down, too.” It’s easy sharing information with him now, especially if it means there’s something to talk about that’s not… Well, the kiss. “I hate it, it’s in a corner and people can see into it. It’s easier to work here.”
“And Soohyun hyung doesn’t mind?”
“Considering he’s never here, I doubt it.”
“Cool, cool.”
There’s something in his tone that makes you want to look up, lump in your throat growing in size enough for you to cough it away. You don’t look up, you can’t look up even if you’ve misspelled the word rebrand like four times already.
But then the light you managed to cast onto the space disappears completely. You feel something besides you, the soft material of an expensive suit blazer grazing your arm and cheek. You see veiny, masculine hands secure themselves around the arms of the chair before he’s turning you to face him.
You gulp.
He’s leaning down close, closer than he should be, closer than what he’s allowed to be considering anyone can walk in on you. You’re flushing, you can feel the redness creep up your neck and heating your ears and face before you gather the courage of raising a questioning brow. Yunho stays silent, his eyes scanning your face and briefly landing on your lips before returning your stare.
“Can I help you with anything, Yunho?” You ask him again, quieter this time, voice trembling a little.
“Princess,” he starts, the corner of his lip raising just a little, like it’s funny he has to say what he’s about to say, “are you ghosting me?”
Shit.
“Why would you— Why would I—,” a nervous chuckle abandons you and then you huff, trying to seem offended at his accusation, “W-what do you mean by that?”
Leaning into your space a tiny bit more, he repeats “Are you ghosting me?”
Creasing your brow, you straighten in the chair but do nothing to pull him away “No.”
“Then what about the ten messages I sent you and you left on delivered?”
Faking a surprised gasp, you move to take your phone out of the pocket of your jacket and unlock it to swipe through your messages “You did? Oh, my God, I’ve been soooo busy.”
“You’re shit at lying to me.”
“I’m not lying to you—”
“Are you okay?”
Your eyes snap from the phone to his face, genuine annoyance creasing your eyebrows this time.
“You don’t have to ask me that everytime you see me, Jeong.”
“But are you?” He asks as you finally find his chat and open the messages you dreaded to see the entire time that passed. There’s a few of them practically begging you to speak to him, one apologizing for the kiss and the other ones you don’t even see because Yunho is taking the phone from your hand and placing it on the desk next to you. “I mean, what happened didn’t trigger anyth—”
You hate he’s this considerate with you, even after you clearly walked out of the situation with a poorly formulated excuse.
“What happened was a mistake.”
Yunho physically deflates and lets the chair go, the tension on your shoulders lifting a little now that he’s not as close.
“What?”
“It was a mistake, we shouldn’t have done that. We’re professionally obligated to work together, fake all of this together, so it shouldn’t…” You pause and consider for a bit before doing something you never do: take the blame “I shouldn’t have. I apologize.”
Letting out a breath, you turn the chair and delete the misspelled rebrand to write it the correct way, heart too weak to even look at his reaction. It doesn’t matter anyway, you’re never doing anything like it again.
You hear him shuffle with the boxes at both your feet and, from the corner of your eye, you see him turning away from you and then back, hands on his hips “I don't think it was a mistake.”
“Well, it was.”
“I liked it.”
That brings out a genuine, short lived laugh out of you “Thank you, I’m a great kisser.”
You open your brother’s email and pretend there’s an urgent matter inside the contents of one of them until Yunho’s hand closes over yours, over the mouse.
“Y/N.”
There’s a lot of things about Jeong Yunho you hate: The swoop of his hair when there’s no gel on it, the free aspect to his nature you’re never going to get even if you try to, that one time he called you an ugly giant after wearing platforms for the first time ever.
And the sweetness of his voice when he says your name, the plea you hear on it and the shudder it brings to your spirit. It shakes you, it moves you to look at him again, to actually take his feelings into consideration.
He’s staring at you with so much hurt, it makes your heart sink into an abyss of guilt.
“Hm?”
“I think I like you.”
Oh.

Well, well, well... If it isn't the enemy turning into a potential lover time. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THE TEASER. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Money
When Kara lands on Lena’s balcony at L-Corp, she’s here on a mission.
“Miss Luthor.”
Lena whirls around at her desk, clearly surprised by the visit.
“Supergirl. I wasn’t expecting you. Is there a problem?”
Kara stalks into her office, hands on her hips.
“Yes, I mean, no, not a problem, per se.”
“But?” Lena prompts, picking up on Kara’s frantic energy.
“I was meeting with the mayor this morning,” Kara starts, thinking back to being summoned by city officials to talk about the damage to some waterfront buildings that happened in the wake of Kara fighting off the latest rogue alien who attacked the city.
“Oh. Well, that’s unpleasant,” Lena quips. “He’s a useless sack of flesh in ill-fitting suits, at least as far as I’m concerned.”
“Um, I mean. Yes. But, that’s not why I’m here.”
Lena sits back down at her desk and motions for Kara to take one of the chairs across from her and waits for her to get to the point.
“Right, so, he said that you paid for the damage to the two office buildings by the pier.”
A small smile settles on Lena’s face. “I did.”
The confirmation makes Kara feel jittery. Why would Lena do that? It’s not like she was involved in the fight. It’s not her responsibility!
“Why?”
“Why did I pay for it? Because I can, Supergirl. My family has more money than they know what to do with. I figured it’s only fair to use some of it for good.”
Kara huffs. She doesn’t quite know how to argue with that, but it still feels wrong for Lena to pay for the damage Kara left behind.
Lena seems to sense Kara’s discomfort. The teasing smirk on her face softens into an understanding smile.
“You do so much for this city. You put yourself on the line every day. I have the resources to help, and it won’t even make a noticeable dent in my bank account. Let me take care of this, okay?”
Kara shifts around on her chair, still a little unsure about this arrangement.
“Okay, but, you have to let me make it up to you somehow.”
At that, Lena nods. “Let me steal a couple of your french fries tomorrow at lunch and we’re even.”
Kara can hear the finality in Lena’s tone. It’s not unfriendly, but it’s clear that Lena won’t be deterred.
“Fine. Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
Lena nods again and grins.
It’s not until Kara has launched herself into the skies above National City that it clicks. Lena has lunch plans with Kara Danvers tomorrow, not with Supergirl.
Lena knows.
Shocked and distracted, Kara crashes into a billboard. She wonders if Lena will pay for that, too.

Can I please request going to a horror movie drive in with Flip where he hopes the movie will be louder than the noises you both make lol :)

Creepy music plays loudly through the drive-in speakers as the spectators in surrounding cars stare up at the large movie screen, eating their popcorn and drinking their sodas hesitantly, waiting for the impending jump scare.
You and Flip, however, had lost interest in the movie about ten minutes ago. Well, you didn't lose interest, per se. More like you two became much more interested in one another than in the movie.
Lets just say that the gasps and cries from the scared on-screen protagonists aren't the only ones happening at the theater this evening.
Flip grunts as you sink down onto his stiff length repeatedly, hips thrusting up instinctively against you. The truck's windows are starting to really steam up, the air between you two incredibly thick while you ride him.
You're holding tightly onto the grab handle with one hand while the other rests on his hand, the one currently gripping your hip tightly. Your eyes are on the movie and maybe somewhere in your mind you're paying attention to the horrors occurring, but really, it's just pictures on a screen. Your mind is in a whole different place right now.
"S-Shit," you breathe, biting your lip to try and keep the noise down. "Oh god, baby..."
As much as Flip loves this, well, pretty much public sex, he does try to be extra careful since he's law enforcement. He's really hoping the movie's louder than the noises you two are making and the gentle squeaking of his truck's shocks.
He groans softly, cigarette pinched between his teeth, ashes starting to fall off the tip. "Goddamnit, princess...a little faster for me...mhm, that's it..."
You speed up as he requested, resulting in a spike in both your pleasures. Matching noises of pure lust and passion escape from both of your lips.
"Fuck...mm!"
Flip starts thrusting up into you, chasing his rapidly approaching orgasm. The cars around you seem none the wiser and luckily for you two, the windows are not completely steamed over, so all that can really be seen are your silhouettes.
As he fucks you, you take the opportunity to reach down and rub your clit, moaning softly as the pleasure pulses through you. You're close, very close, and getting closer by the second--
"O-Oh fuck," Flip groans as he cums, pushing his cum up into you with rapid thrusts. "Mmm, good girl...shit..."
Feeling him cum is what sends you over the edge, and you continue rubbing yourself through it as the familiar waves of pleasure roll over your body.
Eventually you both come to a stop and Flip pulls out, tucking himself away while you pull your underwear back into place. As soon as you turn around in his lap, Flip has put out his cigarette and pulls you in for a kiss, his arms wrapping around you to hold you close.
A thought come to you and you smile against his lips, chuckling softly. He pulls away, eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"What is it?"
Your laughter grows a bit. "I told you this was a good movie."
He laughs, shaking his head and giving your ass a nice firm smack.
"You're cute."

Long overdue references of the misfit sisters. I've been locking in these days with lore. [Click "keep reading" for some more lore-ish stuff]
So these are just the basic tip-of-the-iceberg references for the Misfit Sisters. Nothing too much on them in their pages I provided up top, but allow me to dump a little about their background here!
Nellie, Nyxa, and Lily all met when they were much younger. Nellie was 5, Nyxa was 13, and given that Corvenia (Nyxa's mom) was good friends with Finnegan when she got to Batsborough, she would get to see Nyxa frequently while Corvenia babysat her. Nyxa was actually sketchy of Nellie at first, nervous that her mom would pay attention to little Nellie more than her. But that didn't happen! Nyxa actually really liked Nellie's company considering she was scared of the new environment she was forced into with her mom, and Nellie was kind of a symbol of "everything's gonna be fine".
Lily and Nyxa were friends before Nyxa was forced into Batsborough, they always had playdates with each other as their moms did business together, so to Lily's surprise she would start to see Nyxa way more than she already did. Lily also met Nellie during this time, and the three became a trio, seeing each other as sisters.
Some Dynamics:
-Nyxa's actually the least mad towards Nellie and Lily. She cannot fully bring herself to get angry at them like she does per say Baxie or really anyone else in Batsborough.
-Nyxa's the one calling Nellie "Libby" as she kept heavily mispronouncing Nellie's name when they were little. They both found it funny, so Nyxa's nicknamed her that ever since.
-Nellie and Lily can communicate in bat squeaks. Nyxa of course gets [playfully] annoyed since she doesn't understand what the hell they're saying.
-Lily and Nellie also used to ask Nyxa to "caw" at them. Nyxa said no every time.
-Lily knows exactly what calms Nyxa down and will do it when she feels Nyxa's going to combust into small pieces.
-Lily helped Nyxa around Batsborough when the Crows were first forced there. Of course vampires and bat people weren't used to seeing a different species in their area, but they would never discriminate Nyxa. The vampires/bat people of Batsborough are very accepting.

A detailed explanation of what Arkanis' crowdfunding project is and how you can help more than you think.
Greetings non-portuguese speakers. Today I came to explain in depth about Arkanis' crowdfunding happening right now in Catarse. But before we start, I want to talk a bit about Arkanis' project as whole.
Arkanis is a Minecraft RP server, a SMP, which many of you must be familiar with already. Even if you don't know Arkanis, you probably know similar ones. The server was created by Pac (who a good amount of people met through QSMP) and friends (Tayr, Stefano, Himaru etc) with the goal to make something never seen in Brazilian Minecraft before. The project has over 15 people behind it to help make it happen. Actors, modders, programmers, builders, writers, and a whole lot more.
If you check Arkanis' YouTube channel you can clearly see the high value production that it has. The server also has multiple NPCs, including voiced ones!
(The green Ghost, Denix, is played by admin 07, who is very known for playing Richarlyson back in QSMP)
My main point of bringing up the server's production team is to tell that, for such amazing work, they're all, of course, paid. They're all paid above the minimum Brazilian wage, though its precise number wasn't disclosed. And if we just made a simple calculation, using the minimum wage as an example, despite knowing it's above that, just by paying their employees alone (excluding expenses like paying for the server etc) it's around 22k BRL per month.
Thanks to a Twitch sponsorship, the first season could run smoothly. But sadly, it got dropped. Which means without sponsorship, the budget gets tight and that's where the crowdfunding goes in.
Catarse is a popular Brazilian site made to help fund different projects. From games, books, webseries, podcasts etc. For those familiar with Cellbit, his game Enigma do Medo (Enigma of Fear), was funded through the very same site!
But what makes it better, is that you're just not just giving away your money (you can do that too, if you want to of course). It's that depending on the quantity you give, you will get some goodies!
If you click on this link you'll get a PDF with all the rewards and tiers translated to English. There it'll explain what tiers can get you t-shirts, plushies, or even becoming a character in the server for the duration of one event.
But why should you care? Well, if you're outside Latin America, there's a good chance your money is worth a lot more than you think. To make it easy for you to understand, the 500k BRL maximum goal that will greenlight the second season is only 85k USD. It means that just a tiny amount of money you donate will probably translate to A LOT and you will also get some nice rewards!
The current campaign is to reach 500k by April 19th. It's an "All or Nothing" campaign, which means, if that goal isn't met by the timeframe you WILL get your money back. That means, you shouldn't be afraid that you will donate in vain.

EXTRA GOALS
Yesterday (02/26) the official account announced two extra goals and rewards. If we reach 100k by today (GOAL ALREADY MET) if you're a Tier 3 or above, you will get an extra reward of getting a tour on the Arkanis server + meeting the actors including the little ghosties! If you're tier 5 or above, you can also participate in a mini game session with the CCs! To become a tier 5 you only need to donate 17 USD.
The second goal is to reach 150k by 03/05 and the rewards include that if you're tier 7 or above you get VIP access to extra events like: Arkanis' Oscar, Bailão do Meiaum V2, and Auau's birthday party!

Despite needing 500k to reach the basic goal, if we reach further than that, we can also get 10 non-portuguese speakers CCs on the server. But for that, we need to reach 1.3 million BRL that translates to 222k USD. The reason for such a high goal is because the translation tool is quite expensive, and it's also in dollars. For something that will be running daily non-stop for 6 months straight, the cost will build up fast!
I'm convinced, how do I help?
By clicking HERE you can help. And by clicking HERE you'll get instructions in English if you're totally lost.
Thank you for taking the time to read until here. And even if you can't donate, you can help by reblogging this post :)

Camp Crystal Lake: Chapter 5
Requested by @yellowjacketsbuzzbuzz
Joel Miller x f!reader (romance/horror)
Setting: Camp Crystal Lake
The reader is taking on the position of a camp counselor at the infamous Camp Crystal Lake. While she begins to enjoy her summer, even crushing on the camp director Joel, a killer lurks in the woods unbeknownst to anyone.
Crazy Ralph had been the buzz of the morning conversations. Joel eased everyone’s minds about the old man, and I was certain he probably wasn’t dangerous, regardless of how creepy his sudden appearance was. Annie was the only who remained slightly spooked, though I could understand why. If I had been the one to first encounter Ralph at the door it probably would have hit me differently, too.
Around eleven-thirty that morning, everyone had scattered around the assembly of picnic tables just outside to the left of the main cabin. Teri and Vicky sat side-by-side. I couldn’t remember the guy’s name with the wavy hair, but he lingered beside them with one foot up on the picnic table bench. I smirked to myself when I saw Teri give her friend a look and roll her eyes.
I was lucky that I naturally clicked with Sandra. She patted the spot beside where her, Jeff and Ted sat, and so I joined them.
“Hey, what’s green and red and goes a hundred miles per hour?” Ted asked. Goofiness radiated out of him and it made me chuckle.
“What Teddy?”
“A frog in a blender.”
“Ha, ha,” Jeff said dryly, “That’s not funny.”
Ted reached for a whistle around his neck and gently blew it, making his friend swing back and hit him gently. “I’m just testing this thing out, Jeff. Ya mind?”
“Alright,” Joel’s voice made me turn my head toward the porch. He wandered over toward us with a clipboard looking very camp-official with a pair of khaki shorts and a white t-shirt with Crystal Lake written in red, varsity lettering across the chest. “Let me get you your assignments here. We have to get this place in shape.”
“Yes, coach,” Ted teased, making everyone chuckle.
Joel smirked but went on. “So, I think from your personalities and your experience in jobs like this that you’ll enjoy yourselves this summer; but like I said, once the campers come you have to be on your game. Pay attention to whoever is in your group, take head counts, you know the deal. You’ve done this before. I’ll give you all that protocol closer to when the kids arrive in a few weeks.”
He began to read off the clipboard. “I paired you off and I have a little map to give each group so you know where you’re going for your jobs.”
I secretly hoped Joel would want to work with me, but that hope quickly diminished; however, I was happy to hear that I was going to be working with Sandra.
“(Y/N), Sandra,” he motioned to the two of us, “Today you’re both going to sand and paint the lifeguard stand. I have some extra supplies if you don’t mind making a sign that says, No Swimming When Lifeguard Is Not On Duty.”
I nodded, smiling as I did and Sandra gave him a two-finger salute.
“Mark and Scott, I put you in charge of the game room. I’ll give you the rundown of what I need from you there. Right outside of the game room we have to set up the archery range, too.” The wavy haired guy leaned over and gave Mark a fist bump.
“Ted and Jeff,”
“We’re the muscle, I know,” Jeff joked.
“Actually,” Joel gave a laugh, “You two are going to help me assemble the docks down at the beach. So, yeah, I hope you don’t mind a little physical exertion.”
Ted flexed his Gumby-like arms, “I’m here for ya boss.”
“Annie’s going to be in the kitchen and mess hall area getting things set up how she’d like. Tomorrow we’ll probably all be on painting jobs around the cabins to get this place looking a little more inviting. Make sure you’re all drinking plenty of water, it’s supposed to be hot today.”
The short meeting concluded and we went to retrieve a few papers from Joel. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a key, placing it in my palm.
“There’s a small shed down by the beach,” he informed me, “All the sanding and painting supplies are in there. I’m going to get the guys settled in the game room and then I’ll be down to help out Jeff and Ted with the docks, so if you need anything, I’ll be back in about fifteen minutes.”
I nodded, “Okay. Thanks.” I turned to Sandra, Jeff and Ted and the four of us made our way down to the beach together.
“I hope this is an excuse to get in the water,” Jeff said, wiping sweat from his forehead, “I’m already sweating.”
“We have to take a dip when we’re done,” Sandra said, looking at me.
I nodded. “I’m in.”
The two of us made our way up just a few feet into the trees at the top of the beach while the guys made their way toward the water. A green shed was tucked in between two giant pine trees, and Sandra took the key from me to open the door.
“Think he did that on purpose?” she asked, smirking as she looked back at me.
“Who?”
“Joel.” She flung the door open.
“Did what on purpose?” I followed her into the shed and a wave of heat him me.
“Put us all in the same area,” Sandra explained, “Particularly you.. and him.” She added, “Damn, it’s hot in here.”
I snickered and looked down, shaking my head.
“He’s got a thing for you.”
“No, he doesn’t.” I giggled again.
“He’s hot,” Sandra went on, in no rush to reach for the paint. “I wonder what it would be like to be with an older man.”
I smirked, caving in to the girl talk. “I wonder, too.” We both shared a laugh and she playfully shoved my shoulder.
“The second it happens, I want details.”
“Nothing is going to happen,” I insisted, toying with my ponytail.
“Would you? You know.. if he asked?”
I opened my mouth to speak and then thought for a second, leaving us in another chorus of laughter. “Who knows,” was my final answer. I kept it purposely vague, but it certainly wasn’t a ‘no’.
We finally retrieved the sanding supplies and two buckets of white paint. The fresh air just a step out of the shed made me sigh.
“It was really hot in there,” I said aloud to no one in particular as we made the short walk through the sand to the lifeguard stand.
Ted blew his whistle again, making us both snap our heads down toward the water. “That’s my stand, girls. Make sure you wax on and wax off correctly. I don’t want any slivers in my hiney.”
The two of us began to laugh at his choice of words.
“I’m leaving the top where you sit extra splintery!” Sandra called back, making him blow his whistle again.
I laughed at their interaction and soon after began to tackle the job at hand.
“This is the best summer job ever,” Sandra claimed, climbing up a few of the wood steps to sand the seat.
“Yeah, it seems like it’s going to be.” I removed my shoes and kicked them to the side before squatting down to get the base. We worked for a few uninterrupted minutes before I turned to say something else to Sandra. She had her neck arched, looking out past the shed into the woods.
“What is it?” I asked, glancing over my shoulder now into the trees.
Her eyes squinted and she used her hand to block the sun. “I don’t know.”
I rose to my feet now and followed her stare.
“I thought I saw someone,” she claimed.
“Hopefully it’s not Crazy Ralph,” I said back, making her chuckle and finally look down.
Sandra gave a wave now in the opposite direction we had been looking and wiggled her eyebrows at me. “Hi, Joel.”
I caught my breath and turned, trying not to drink him in as he marched in our direction.
“You two all set?” He asked.
I nodded and Sandra saluted him again. “I think so,” I told him.
“Good,” Joel tipped up the corner of his mouth in a smirk. The three of us turned toward the woods when there was a rustling sound. My gaze lingered for a moment before Joel’s laughter drew my attention back to him. “These woods will make your mind play tricks on you.” He gave a wink, and I smirked back at him. That wink made my stomach do flip-flops.
“I thought I saw something-” Sandra started, when another rustling sound made her glance back into the woods. She then quickly looked down toward the lake, where Ted and Jeff were both laughing.
Jeff launched a rock up into the trees, creating the same effect as before as it skipped through the leaves, making a rustling sound. “You girls are too easy to scare,” he claimed.
“Keep it up and it’s going to be a very cold summer for you!” Sandra shouted to him.
Everyone laughed. I admired Sandra’s go-getter personality. It was the opposite of my own, but I loved that she had a big voice and wasn’t at all shy. She definitely wore the pants in that relationship, as Jeff continued to laugh but obeyed her requests to cut the shit.
Joel shook his head with a smile. “Let me know if you need anything,” he said, glancing at Sandra first and then back to me. “Okay?”
I nodded. “Okay.”
“Okay.” He wandered down the sand and I admired watching him go.
“Tell him you need him to apply sunscreen to your shoulders,” Sandra whispered, making me laugh out loud.
“Stop it,” I whispered back, dabbing her arm with a streak of white paint.
Sandra’s jaw dropped but she immediately began to laugh and did it back until the two of us were standing there with our paintbrushes in a stalemate, staring at one another. “Truce.”
“Okay, truce.” I went to shake her hand and Sandra playfully streaked my other arm, sending us into a chorus of laughter again.
“Okay, okay.” She put her hands up and when I saw her glance out into the woods again, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy. “You don’t think Ralph would be watching us or anything, do you?”
I peered through the trees. “I doubt it. He’s got to be long gone by now. If we see him, we’ll report it.”
Sandra continued to stare for a second and then her carefree demeanor resumed. The remainder of the afternoon went a little something like that. It felt like we were being paid to have fun. I decided, for the final summer before I was ousted into the “real world”, it was going to be the best one.

Pay-Per-View
Based (loosely) on a phone call I got at my work, but basically, the gang finds out Ghost still pays for cable porn instead of literally any other option. I understand that in the uk, cable porn is different but I've tried to get a straight answer on how it works and came up blank so I'm working with what I know
It was either this or werewolf porn and I finished this first. Pure crack.
"Wow, you actually still have a cable box?" Alejandro asked as he glanced at the clunky box attached to the tv. The 141, Alex, Farah, Alejandro and Rodolfo had come over to his flat. They had all been invited by Price and somehow, someway, they ended up at Ghost's house instead of Price's flat. He knew it was because Price had a flat and Ghost had inherited a house, but still.
"Yes." Ghost continued to make tea. "I'll eventually set up that stick thing you guys got me, but I'm rarely here."
Alejandro frowned at him. "Giant flat screen and you watch cable? Really? You have internet, I could set it up for you right now?"
Ghost shrugged and Alejandro quickly started to set it up. Alex stood by to help, as they tried to figure out how to unhook the cable box to set up the Roku they bought him.
They turned on the tv and moans filled the entire flat. The two men on the screen were looking into each other's eyes with the amount of passion that only really showed up in porn.
"I told you that you belong with me." The 'top' character growled and rocked into the person underneath them. He was big and tattooed, holding the smaller man underneath him by his wrists.
"Yes, sir." A soft whine came from the person underneath. He threw his head back to expose his throat.
Alex scrambled to change the channel as Alejandro started to wheeze. "YOU PAY FOR FUCKING PAY-PER-VIEW?"
"Where else would i get porn?" Ghost didn't seemed bothered at all despite the mortified looks of a few people. "I have a flat screen. I want to use it."
Alejandro was still wheezing as Alex finally managed to pause it. "It's three fucking hours?? Do you jack off the whole time?"
"...Yeah?"
Rodolfo cleared his throat. "So! Dinner plans?"
"How do you not finish?" Gaz ignored him trying to tactfully get away from the situation.
Ghost frowned. "I just stop, wait a minute and keep going?? Same thing you do during sex?"
Gaz looked flabbergasted. "That's not normal."
Price tried to talk louder to get everyone's attention. "So, Rodolfo, dinner plans you were saying?"
"Fuck you mean not normal?" Ghost scoffed. "Can't a man relax in his own home? Sometimes a bloke wants to take it slow."
Alejandro asked. "What do you light candles? Put on some classical music?"
There was just a bit too long of a pause before Ghost said, "No."
"Oh my god. Oh my god." Alex covered his face. "I don't want to envision this."
Soap interrupted. "Classical music? Really?"
"Sometimes I put on jazz."
Soap nodded and got out his phone.
Farah hummed. "Alex, we have pay per view on our cable. You've used it."
"I have not!" Alex blushed.
Farah frowned. "When you click on the porn channels on tv, I pay for those."
Alex stared at her. "I don't use those."
"...Alex. I've caught you using them. Please do not patronize me."
Ghost raised his hand at Alex. "See, Ale."
"Don't ever pronounce my nickname like that again."
Ghost sighed. "Dinner plans?"
Soap hummed. "So what porn do you like?"
"Are we seriously doing this?" Gaz asked.
Ghost frowned. "So dinner plans?"
They shelfed the conversation for later.

Just a Wink - pt 2 {Suna x Reader}
Tags: Flirting, flirting strangers, Fluff, Humor, Semi-Canon Compliant, not beta read, still not beta read, reader is a volleyball player, word count: 4322 Summary: You meet the middle blocker from Inarizaki again in the next national tournament and you still have the mischievous streak to have fun. A/N: the tags here and comments from ao3 were motivating and i still had some ideas in mind so i made another part. may add or change some stuff here are there [ao3] 1 ⪻ ꒰ 2 ꒱⪼ 3
•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°~•~°
Your team lost in the finals to Sakura Chuo High. It was a good game, though. The first set was a win for your team. But the next two were won by Sakura Chuo. The last being 23-25. The feeling of defeat comes slowly. You're more relieved that it's over, glad to wipe away the sweat all over your face and to stay dry at the present moment, finally getting the chance to breathe and let your heart beat steady. Competitive as you are, you don’t feel crushed per se. Sad, sure, but not as devastated as some of your teammates seem to be. If anything, what’s has you misty eyed is their sobbing rather than the actual loss. Feeling the pain of all the training, the practices, to only lead you all not crossing the final step to reach the peak. That's what happened last time. Everyone worked so hard to get here. Still you didn’t make it to the top. But that's how it is. Sometimes, you’ve got the ball rolling and it stops at the last moment.
There’s still pride left in them, you think, that they understand second place is still really good. Some of your teammates will come to that conclusion later. Others, not really. They have their reasons and they're right to believe otherwise. To you, the team has proven that you’ve all come this far. Every other school will see you all as strong opponents for the next nationals. As for you personally, You could say getting up here is a huge confidence boost as a player and you want to play up to here again.
After the game, as you all wipe away the sweat and rehydrate, your captain and half of the team approach you while you drink from your bottle.
“Sorry we made you look bad in such a big game,” your captain starts, saying it with at most exaggerated seriousness that purposely borders on being funny. Paying no mind until one of your middle blockers said, “We promised to do our best after all."
You are confused, raising a brow. Then, they give a half bow to you and apologize in unison, confusing you even more. They were so in sync that it was suspicious, but a soft part of your heart gets the best of you. “Huh? What's this all about?” you exhaustedly cried out to them, worried you scared them at some point into playing better. You are in no position to suddenly have them be like this to you.
“We said we’d do our best so you can score a date with that one guy from Hyogo,” the team’s second libero states in fake disappointment and the others nod. In an instant, It all clicks.
This is so stupid. “Damn you guys.” You are so done with them. Still you can’t help but laugh out loud. You’re well aware that this is a joke, but the idea that they thought winning nationals will get you a date with an attractive stranger tickles your mind in a way you didn’t think it would and it has you howling in laughter, not caring of passersby or the other team notices. It fills you with pride that, despite the loss, they found humor in it all. Your team laughs along with you and you all banter while readying to leave.
The middle blocker from Hyogo in question, Suna-san, didn't quite leave your mind. After that little chat with him, you did not expect to see him again anytime soon. Most teams don't stay to watch the following days live after they're out of the nationals brackets. Though Inarizaki stayed for another day after they lost, you already assumed they’d be gone the day of the finals.
There was a part of you that would like to believe they did stay to watch. You already met Suna-san by chance once. Why not a second time? Or even just see other Inarizaki players walking around like before. But it seems they didn’t. You didn’t feel that strange chill when Suna-san had his eyes on you, not before, during or after the match.
However, you’re kind of glad it's likely that he didn’t watch at all. He wished you luck yet you lost. Now that is embarrassing, even when you were playing really well in the match. Therefore, you can move along in peace.
As you walk alongside your teammates, carrying their own respective gym bags, you like to think that the luck Suna-san wished for you will show up at a different time.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Spring came, all of you bid farewell to your seniors and you became a third year yourself. Without your input or by default, the team pretty much chose you as their vice-captain, which is actually much better than being the captain, in your humble opinion. The first years are a handful. They do have a great deal of potential, just guiding in the right direction, and maybe a gentle knuckle to their heads sometimes but they’re mostly fine.
Oddly for you, some teammates like to gossip in good fun and the little story of you chatting it up with a middle blocker from a powerhouse team gets to the first year players. From what you’ve heard and what the first years were willing to say that they heard, it's not far from what happened. Nonetheless you know that your freshmen, teammates’ active imaginations might have imagined it differently. Now, they think you're the senior who has the hidden ability to charm attractive boys when in reality it was just a sudden burst of confidence and living in the moment.
Regarding that one guy in question, Suna-san was rarely in your mind unless it was about nationals or the boys’ side of the nationals. Though the memory of the chat you had with him has been slightly tainted by the fact that more people know about it now and you have to always point out that you really weren’t trying to get it with him– you don’t even know where that assumption came from– whenever the story gets retold, you can still look back at it and feel pleased with yourself that you did not fumble. This is even more so because you winked at him, twice. The first time is the most fun to recall. You don’t know if you could do that again if you end up seeing him in nationals, if you even get there.
And then, the first half of your third year was to your favor. The team does great enough to win your prefecture's Interhigh Preliminaries, setting you to what could probably be the last nationals you'll attend in your school sports career. Perhaps that luck was paying off and you hope it will last you until the end.
The trip to Tokyo was much like last years, yet the new batch of freshmen brought a new kind of excitement when you got there. Much like the last inter-high tournament, your team waits by the stairs outside of the tokyo gymnasium, under sunnier weather, not to join in the clustered crowd inside. Keeping the team in a good mindset was a job you had with the captain and manager. That's what you were mostly doing. Still, the waiting has you bored and you distract yourself by looking on to the crowd of other players. The teams are a little more lively than they were back in January, it might be because of the brighter, warmer weather. New uniforms also wait alongside your team, new or returning teams from years ago. Plenty of old uniforms from last nationals make their return. They all come with matching banners of their school’s name. You find yourself looking for a particular shade of maroon banners and sports jacket, yet they weren’t there
The tournament brackets are inside the gymnasium, but you have the gut feeling that Inarizaki will be here too. You could do that right now, ask a teammate what team is here for Hyogo. After all, you could also be wrong. However, some of your more teasing members are quick to jump to the conclusion that you're hoping it’s Inarizaki because of, well, a certain someone, rather than assuming you're asking out of genuine curiosity. They’d be right too but you're not really in the mood to feed into their teasing. It's also on the bottom of your list of priorities. So, you spend the rest of the wait checking on your team’s well being while scanning the crowds of colorful volleyball jerseys every now and then to distract yourself.
The thought fades once your team enters the gymnasium and you, along with the rest of the teams present, prepare for the opening ceremony. It was only when you check out the tournament brackets after the ceremony do you see that Inarizaki is present. It’s impressive but no surprise to you or anyone. From what you've gathered, they won't be up to play until much later, same as your team.
Teams that aren't the first four matches in the main arena of the tournament spend their time being an audience of those matches or wandering around the stadium until it is their turn. That's what your team has been up to. Everyone is in high energy and high spirits, so most of your teammates are walking around either watching the games or checking out the stalls for souvenirs. Some opted out to just sit and preserve their energy for the match, leaving them as the guard of everyone else's bags.
You are one of those that decided to walk around. The excitement was getting to you a bit and you practically could not sit still. Your manager suggests you come along with her, figuring mayhaps getting on your feet will shake it out. She was just going to the vending machines and didn't want to go alone. You join her after snagging money from a pocket of your bag, thinking you could use a box of milk, actually. If they have milk, that is.
As you walk together, other bright uniforms pass you. You briefly watch the match from each court as you move. The squeaks of rubber shoes on concrete, shuffling feet, the impact of volleyballs on hands and arms, players shouting, audience cheering and playing their teams' cheer music, it all mixes and blends into the festive and energetic atmosphere nationals is known for. You finally reach the hall leading to the exit of the ground floor. It is where some of the vending machines are lined up. From what you can remember, most of them are on the other side, near the entrance.
“Shit”, your manager hisses as she hastily pads her pockets. Concerned but already understanding where this is going, you ask anyway. “What’s wrong?”
“I forgot my wallet.” As you thought. She then hands you her clipboard, and jogs off to the direction where you both came from. “I’ll be right back,” She called out, leaving you standing alone. You sigh, defeated yet humored. She bought her clipboard with her but not the money to buy anything.
After watching her disappear from the corner, you scan the options presented to you by the vending machine in front of you. Juices, soft drinks, canned coffees– maybe you’ll get one later– water, no milk. You walk to the next one and it's the same. The one after that is not even drinks. It's cup noodles and is also tempting. You keep walking and hear footsteps of other people but you pay no mind as you read. Probably other players anyway. It was on the third to the last one, a white vending machine like the beverage it is encasing. The milk is packed in small cartons that you find adorable since you were a child. There's the milk you usually drink and other varieties. It had you thinking
Should you buy the usual or be a bit adventurous and get the flavor you haven’t tried before? The pros of the latter is you enjoying milk and having another kind of milk to like. The cons being you might get an upset stomach right before a game or during the game for suddenly trying something new. However, you may regret it if you don’t give it a try.
Before you make up your mind, you sense it again, the feeling of being watched. Turning to the corner where you last saw your manager, she is still nowhere to be seen. Has she found her wallet and is on her way or still shuffling her bag? You huff impatiently, looking back at the milk cartons behind the vending machine’s glass. Maybe you should just buy your usual plain milk.
After making up your mind, you take the money out of your pocket, slipping the clipboard under your arm. Then, you feel it again, someone's eyes on you. This time, It's different. It’s specific, familiar. It’s the same to the one back in January, that chill. Your awareness heightens. Looking back again, there are other people walking. You half-hope that you would see him. Not because you want to, wanting to be right that it is the same chill as back then. But after scanning the passersby, specifically any person in a volleyball uniform, there wasn’t a single black jersey. It’s somehow disappointing.
Sifting through the money in your hand, there's plenty of 10 yen coins, some 50 yen too. What you need is 100 yen. As you count, someone walks up and stands at a distance from you.
Unsure if they were waiting for their turn to buy, you took a quick glance, noticing maroon cloth. From the corner of your eye, there you see him, Suna-san of Inarizaki's Volleyball team standing in front of the vending machines, staring at the rows of featured bottles, right beside you. His phone with a bright screen on one hand. The other is in the pocket of his jacket.
Your gut is telling you to say 'hi', like he’s already your friend. Winking at and talking to someone once from a few months ago does not count as friendship. Still pretending to be preoccupied, you observe him. It seems, like you, Suna-san came without a beverage in mind, scanning the selection of drinks behind each glass. He makes careful strides forward while his attention is on the side, not in a hurry. You played with the coins between your fingers. Should you talk to him? Shifting your stance to the other foot. The distance between you gets closer and he stops just far enough for him to notice. You're already here, might as well have your fun again.
“Hey,” you greet, a little playful at the tail end.
From his focus on the vending machine, his head pirks up, turning to you. Those feline-like eyes are on you again, less unintentionally threatening this time. Just like before, they gape open in mild surprise then they droop back. He smirks at you.
"Hey," Suna-san echoes with the same voice as he did back then– low, cool, lazy, like having recently woken up. He doesn't appear to have changed much from the last time you saw him. Still having the same haircut. You wager he grew a cm or soThere is a glint in his gaze you can't quite put your finger on. “You made it.”
You softly laugh at his comment. Was he expecting to see you at Nationals? "Yeah. I'm surprised too.”
"Your team did win second place in the last tournament," Suna-san points out. Hearing it from him sounds like a bigger deal. Well, he didn't have to tell you that, tooting your horn for you. He follows up with, "congrats, by the way."
Although smiling in thanks, you try not getting it too big. You said, "don't say that yet, that was the last time. We haven't played our first match today." Your attention is split between the vending machine and talking to him. There is a pause as you do.
“How was it,” he asked. A vague question. It pulls you out from choosing a drink.
Turning to him, you say, “you mean the finals?” It's still clear to you the feelings during the match, the rush, the exhaustion, the thrill. “Even though we lost, it was great. Manage to score a lot too,” recalling scoring a spike in one particularly long rally. The frustration in the Sakura Chau player's faces still brings you satisfaction. “I wanna get up there again. And, well, actually win.”
He nods. Likely understanding your sentiment. Inarizaki did get to the finals last year. However, losing Itachiyama. He would definitely know what you mean. Suna-san pointing with his phone has you looking down on your torso, "you're the vice-captain now, huh?” it made sense that he is referring to your jersey number.
You shrug one shoulder nonchalantly, though there is still pride in your voice, "yup."
He slides his phone into one of the jacket’s pockets. "How's that going for you?"
"Better than I thought. I’m not the one holding the sign, standing front all the time, nor the one doing all the talking for the team when the sports media has questions,” you said with a grin. A grin of someone who has tactically dodged a bullet. “Most of the time, all I do is keep the team in good shape and rally them up when they’re too energetic."
Suna-san’s head tilted up slightly. “You’re not overshadowed by your first years, are you?”, a subtle challenge. Not out of doubt, more like tempting a cat with a stick out of curiosity. You take it, though, just to play along.
“HAH! No.” you assert. “They work hard and play well, but I won’t let myself fall behind, even if the team’s winning a game.” A humble brag, really, one that you're willing to make. To your surprise, the expression of his eyes changes to something you can only assume being pleased at your answer. “And you, Suna-san?” Throwing the question to him, crossing your arms, expecting to be impressed. “I heard that the twins are quite a menace in court.”
Suna-san lets out a light, humored scoff, glancing to the side. “Compared to our old captain and vice-captain, they are. But, they’re-” he trails off a little, thinking of what word to use for them. “…manageable.” You nearly burst out a laugh.
It's time for you to lightly challenge him. “That's not stopping you from playing well, does it”
Only Suna-san’s gaze of his sharp eyes returns to you. His irises are in shades of murky yellow complemented by the light of the vending machine. They stay on you as his stance shifts- straight posture yet laid back- in brief seconds of finger twitching anticipation.
“No”, he said, calm and cool, a simple answer delivered in unwavering, unobvious confidence. There’s nothing for you to deny and you don't try. Impressive, very impressive.
It's cut short when you realize Suna-san hasn’t been choosing anything from the vending machines. Were you making him wait? You sway a hand to the display. "Do you wanna buy something? I'll get it for you if you want."
“You first,” he insisted. Both of you choose in silence for your beverage. Returning back to your self debate, the usual or something new? Scheming uppermost row, a carton of chocolate milk you always wanted to try but always put off. Given the situation, you are feeling adventurous today.
After selecting the chocolate milk, the payment was inserted and the machine began processing it. “Chocolate, huh?” Suna-san said, somewhat impling if it's a favorite of yours.
“Never got to try it. I heard it's good, though.”
Taking the cold carton out of the opening, you ask the other player, “So, which is it?” Wanting to follow through your offer to do it for him. A finger hovers over the buttons in preparation.
“Same as yours, actually” A stretched out arm hands you his money. You find it nice you're both drinking the same thing.
As you punch in his request, Another person approaches behind Suna-san, also a member of Inarizaki’s team. Speaking of one of the devils, a Miya, wearing number 2 as well. You were about to tell Suna-san of him. But the moment he sees you, the guy quickly makes a 180 degree turn– somehow not squeaking his shoes– and rushes back where he came from. Whether you scared him off or he had to go back for his own reasons is beyond you. You leave it be. If had something to say to his teammate, he wouldn’t have left. You insert the coins for the machine to process.
Mere second after Miya left, your manager came running from the other side. “SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG! IT GOT LOST IN MY BAG!” She stops beside you, huffing and a sweaty forehead. Seeing the middle blocker, then at you, She smiles wide.
“Oh!” she said, the suggestive tune goes unhidden. It takes one particular look from you to convey that your warning her to not start anything. “This is Suna-san. He’s a player for Inarizaki. Suna-san, she’s one of our managers,” you said.
She greets him well and he politely responds, beginning with small talk. You don’t participate, letting them be and listening in. Suna-san makes your manager look lively in comparison to him. He is very nice to her and you can't really blame him. The manager has that effect on everyone.
You don’t let yourself gleefully observe the interaction for too long, nearly forgetting his drink. No one noticed it has dropped, so you took it out of the machine. The pen attached to the clipboard you’ve been holding fell and you picked that up too. Holding the pen, an idea pops up. You wipe the moisture of the box with the hem of your jersey and write something on an area of the box where the letters can fit in.
After you are done, you pat your manager’s shoulder. “Hey, buy something already,” gladly reminded her of why she had to run back for money. She does, moving to the different vending machine, leaving you and Suna to talk again. You handed him the chocolate milk carton. He hasn’t noticed yet.
“When’s your match?” you questioned.
“Don’t know. Haven’t asked our captain yet.” there’s a spark of interest in his eyes. “Are you gonna watch us?”
“I’d like to, honestly. I didn’t get to see much last year.” your manager is still choosing, but you know you're running out of time. So, you’ll slip in one more, little, not-so-consequential challenge to him.
As you take the provided straw and carefully tear off its plastic, you ask, “Do you think you’ll win today's game?”
Suna-san sees it too, that you're playing with fire with light touches.
He indulges you, “Yeah. We will.” a hand slips to his pocket phone to take it out.
“You?” the same question from earlier, mixed with a serious note by an accompanied raise brow.
“I’d like to think we will, just like last tournament,” you said while you inserted the straw. “Plus, I believe I still have the luck you wished for me last time, but… “stopping to take a sip of the milk. It's sweet and creamy, the chocolate comes a little late.
You return your attention to Suna. his eyes' impression changed in a blink to something so close to…enticing. Chillingly so, It's almost flustering. However, you’re not backing down in whatever this is happening between the two of you.
Cocking your head to the side, you coyly say “you’ll still wish me luck, won’t you?”
A short, quiet and breathy laugh escapes his lips. There’s a new warmth in his eyes too.
“Good luck.” such few words, given in cool, yet sincere confidence. The luck he wishes you may as well be tangible.
Just when you were about to speak, your manager held you by your elbow. Her other hand was holding her bottled drink. “C’mon let's head back.”
You turn to her, not without you grinning back at him, “See you again, Suna-san.” Taking the tip of the straw between your teeth.
You bid him your farewell with a drown out gaze long enough to feel captivating. Then, you give him a gentle wink before you head off.
After your manager waves him a goodbye, you and her walk off as you take sips again. No words were exchanged until turning to the corner, where boys were out of sight.
“At it again, are we? Don’t you think it’s a bit too early for you to be flirting with boys?
You don’t really like how she puts it. To you, a little bit of teasing back there doesn’t count as full blown flirting.
“It’s nothing like that.”
“Hehe, once the other’s hears about this–”
“Haha, Don’t” you cut her off with a threatening smile. She cheekily smiles back and rolls her eyes. Not pushing it. Likely understanding that you’ve grown tired of the boy charmer jokes about you.
Navigating through the busy halls of the gymnasium, you drink. It tastes a lot better now, more of the chocolate flavor dancing around. You wonder if you overdid it by the end, that you may have had too much fun. Such a shame you did not see his full reaction. The most you got was seeing Suna-san’s expression slightly falter with a smirk from your periphery. You suppose that will be enough proof you got to him somehow.
With each passing sip, the chocolate milk becomes sweeter from your own satisfaction.
•~•~•~•~•~•
As Suna inserts the straw that comes with the box, he sees something written with pen’s ink
‘Good luck in your matches,’ signed with the kanji of your name.
He lets out a gratified sigh to himself. Your wink is still replaying in his mind.
“Damn it.”

Warnings: mentions of drinking/alcohol, sibling banter, fluff/wholesome/good vibes.
Word Count: 4.2k

A 4 Book interconnected series where they find love in the most unexpected ways. The bar was Jake's dream, but somehow is helping everybody else's dreams come true as well.

Two Days until Open
Flipping the heavy lock and hearing the door chime has become my favorite way to start my day. After six long months of fixing up this place, it’s only days from officially opening. I’ve spent countless hours cleaning it up, with the help of my brothers, obviously. But it has come together and finally feels like mine.
“Goodmoooooorning!” Josh sings from across the room.
“Good Morrow!” I can’t help the slight accent that comes along with it.
Josh has been helping me decorate, thrift, and create things to match the aesthetic here. Deciding to develop a piratical vibe with a touch of retro themes felt right. We’ve spent hours finding the perfect pieces to hang, and thankfully, Josh has a good eye for all that. Red neon signs adorned the walls, with my favorite “Sinners Welcome” sign hanging behind the bar.
“I think we are getting close to finishing with the decor,” Josh says, turning to make eye contact with me.
“If you’re happy with it, then I’m happy with it,” I said, smiling back at him. “Just let me know what I can do to help. Otherwise, I’ll be organizing until the cows come home.”
The door chimes ringing as Sam, our younger brother, walks through the door, Daniel quickly following behind.
Daniel has practically been part of our family since we were kids, so he is treated like a brother. He and Sam went to school together and instantly attached at the hip, so he was at our house often throughout the years. When the time came, he chose not to go away for college, and I helped him get a job with me at the Shipyard. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a glamorous job, but it’s one of the better-paying options— at least it wasn’t a factory.
“Okay, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, we come bearing gifts, and by that, I mean, I hope you like these coffees,” Sam announces as he makes his way to the bar, “black– because I texted both of you and neither replied, so it’s your fault.”
“Some of us have jobs, Sam,” I said back.
Josh pulls out his phone, and I can see him click around for a second, “Oh yeah, there it is.”
Sam abruptly set the coffee on the bar in front of us with a shit-eating grin.
“Mental note, keep coffee creamer,” Josh mumbles and Sam holds a bag out to him before taking a sip.
“I didn’t forget your caramel cold foam whipped cream bullshit that you put in your coffee.”
Josh’s face lights up at the sight, “Wow, you do care about me,” putting on the dramatics per usual, “Also– I better not be Tweedle Dum.”
Sam let out a sinister laugh with an exaggerated shrug, “Guess we’ll never know!”
Since Sam got home from college, he’s been helping Josh and myself get everything done for the bar. Often, he’s reluctant or tries to make it seem that way. I can tell that he likes to be a part of everything. He’s been offering to take pictures of the bar. We have all the beer available, so we can post them on our Instagram, which I’m glad he understands is part of the business because I do not.
“Thank you, Samuel,” I say. “Lucky for you, I always take my coffee black.”
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“I think if I have to look at another beer can today,” Sam starts, “I’ll lose my mind completely.”
I giggle as I continue to track what we have in stock, “The worst is almost over, bud.”
I’m sure opening the week of Thanksgiving seems like a terrible concept, and, to be frank- it’s overwhelming. I hope the six months of bickering with everybody will prove it was worth it.
“Hey, boss,” Daniel starts, “is there anything else you’d like me to do?”
I’m not exactly proud of how much he startled me. I should be more used to how quiet he is by now, but I don’t think I’ll ever be.
“Jesus Christ,” I stop to process the question. “No, buddy, you can go home. It’s getting late, and we all probably could stand to get some rest before actually opening.”
With no hesitation, I hear Sam ask from the other room, “Does that include me also?”
“Yes, go home!” I shout over to him.
The door chime rings suddenly, causing Josh and me to laugh, walking over to find whatever he is working on. Carefully tapping the frame to ensure it’s centered on the nail, he looks incredibly focused.
“We can also be done for the night,” I tell him, putting my arm around his shoulders.
“Well, even better news, that was the last thing I needed to hang.” He says.
“You’ve outdone yourself, really.” I compliment him.
Patting my hand a few times, he tells me, “Did it up just right, and it’s all for you, brother.”
We stare at each other silently for a second.
“I’m just elated to see you finally going for your dreams.”

Opening Night
The room glows in red from the neon signs we’ve hung, making everything feel real suddenly as I look at the locked door. We decided to open a little later in the day so the ambiance would be there. Also, who opens a bar on their first day at noon?
“How are you feelin’?” Daniel asked, squeezing my shoulder to wake me up from my nervous state.
“I’m not well.”
He laughs at my response. “It’s going to be great, Jake.”
I spent a moment trying to crack my knuckles before letting out the breath I had been holding. Listening to the quiet, jazzy riff that Sam is playing on the piano, tucked into the corner.
“You think so?” turning to him for a bit of reassurance.
“Absolutely. I think you’re onto something great, buddy,” he tells me.
My hands shake as I turn the jukebox on for the first official time, hearing the music start playing throughout the bar; we all look at each other for a second with smiles plastered across all our faces.
“Okay, it’s time,” I say as I turn the deadbolt. Seeing Josh pull the little chain on the ‘Open’ sign in the window makes my heart thump even louder.
The moment feels like slow motion as the door opens, and it isn’t one of the four of us who have been working here. I had hardly taken two steps back when the chime went off.
“Oh, sweetheart,” my mom gasps, stepping over the threshold, “This is wonderful.”
She immediately pulls me into a hug; all my nerves disappeared in a simple gesture.
“You did the damn thing, now didn’t ya bub?” Dad finally speaks up, giving me his signature side hug.
Before I knew it, Josh was already toting our parents around the bar, showing them all the decor he was proud of finding. A few customers who weren’t family had started to trickle in and sit at the bar.
“I actually made Jake meet me after work so he could help me pull this out of the dumpster,” Josh explains, louder than I wished he would. A collective “oooh” followed his statement, realizing that a handful of customers sitting close to the tour were also listening to him now.
“I painted this for him,” he continues, pointing at his framed artwork. He’s always been artistic; his imagination was incredible.
A miniature painting of Queen Anne’s Revenge sat in a gold frame. He’s always known that I love everything about pirates and their history. That was one of the first things he made for the bar when I told him I would officially buy it.
“That’s beautiful,” our mom gasped, leaning in to look at the little details even closer. “You really did that, Sunshine?!” Her voice raises excitedly, causing even more customers to glance over. Covering my mouth with my hand, I try to contain the laugh. Josh really did turn into Mom over the years, huh?
“You obviously know that Jake loves his pirates,”
“Oh, I sure do,” Mom says, “Remember when he would cry because his favorite pirate ship jammies needed to be washed?”
“Alright, alright. Mum, we don’t need to bring it up,” I chime in, “ again,” shaking my head at the trip down memory lane.
My dad finally snuck away from the Grand Tour, found a seat at the bar, and started to make conversation with a few people.
Glancing over to the door as it opens, Old Man Chuck strolls in, immediately making eye contact. He makes his way over to the corner stool at the bar.
Without asking, I slide a beer over to him.
“Ya did a hell of a job, kid. Place looks wicked good,” he mumbles.
“Thank you, Sir,” I matched his volume, “that one’s on me.” He gave me a subtle nod.
Old Man Chuck wasn’t a man of many words, and I respected that. He took a chance to sell me the bar; I’ll always be grateful. It probably helps that I have spent plenty of nights here when he still owned it, but where else am I supposed to go when my apartment is only two floors above?
As the night goes on, people start trickling in. Living in Portland for so long, you realize everyone knows everyone. Considering we were rapidly approaching Thanksgiving, many people were home for the holidays and in need of a break from their families.
I scan the bar to see if anybody hasn’t been tended to when I see Sam trying his hardest to converse with Chuck, and it’s not working. I walk over, touching his shoulder to get his attention.
“Sammy boy, can you just do a quick round and make sure everyone in the booths is good?” I quickly ask him.
“Aye, aye, Captain.”
I watch as he makes his way to each table, collecting empty glasses and making occasional small talk with some of the groups.
“Everyone good over here?” I could hear him asking from behind the bar.
Even though he would complain daily about helping out, I could tell he didn’t mind doing this part as much. I could never say to him because it would go straight to his head, and I’d never hear the end, but I’m incredibly proud of him. Poor kid hasn’t worked a day in his life, and I’ve been putting him through it for the last few months.
“Oh, you sell things at the farmer’s market too?” he asks. “What’s your Instagram? I’ll follow you real quick!”
He’s always been comfortable talking to people; he usually seems carefree. I’ve always admired how sure of himself he is. I don’t know if it’s the amount of time he spends outside or that he got a few years away from us, but he’s gotten much more comfortable with himself.
“So.. do you have a boy-“
All of that to say, he has absolutely no game with the ladies.
“Hey bud, I told you to check on everyone,” I glance over at the girl and back at Sam, “not harass them.”
“Jake, what are you doing?” he spits out, “I’m so sorry- uhh”
I give him a quick double pat on the back and nod towards the bar.
“Are you kidding? I was trying to–” Sam continues as I stroll behind the bar. “Do you actually hate me?”
“You were not about to win her over, Sam,” I laugh. “She’s been making eyes at Daniel all night.”
I watch him deflate, putting the dirty glasses he brought back in the bin beside me.
“She doesn’t seem like your type anyway.”
“And you know what my type is?” He questions with a smug look on his face.
“She clearly wasn’t feisty enough to put up with your stubborn ass,” I quip back with a smile.
Unimpressed with my response, he goes back to mingling with customers. I find myself watching him as he makes small talk.
I probably shouldn’t step in on his attempts at flirting, but I could see that one imploding a little too quickly.
I don’t have the best of luck with women myself. I haven’t been on a date in God knows how long. The bar has kept me so busy I don’t even consider it. There are too many things I need to think about constantly, and it wouldn’t be fair for me to do that to someone.
Scanning the room, I notice a couple sitting together in one of the booths, his arm draped over her shoulders. The way she looks at him, gazing at him like he created the moon. Cradling his face with her tiny hand and pressing her lips to his cheek, a smile erupted across his face. Maybe one day.
“Come back to earth, honey,” followed by a few snaps, pull me out of my own world.
“I’m sorry, Linda,” I laugh, “I’m happy to see you here.”
Linda Graves, a sweet older lady, will quickly become one of our regulars. She runs a stand at our local farmer’s market and quickly became buddies with Sam. Her husband had recently passed when he first met her, but she was slowly making her way back out into the world. She’s an eccentric girl and, honestly, reminds me of Josh often.
“Where’s the big guy?” she asks, making her bright red glasses bounce up and down suggestively.
“You know he has a name–”
“I’m trying to play hard to get Jake. You’re supposed to be my wingman,” she whispers, gently smacking my arm, “Did I use that right?”
Throwing my head back with a laugh, I said, “Oh god, you’re right!”
Gesturing to Linda to give me one second, I find the man of her dreams, who is conveniently walking out of the bathroom as I turn into the hall.
“I have a lovely little lady who would like to see you,” choking back the laugh.
“Is it who I think it is?” Daniel asks, following me towards the bar, “Ahhh– there she is.”
He’s a good sport about most things, which is a refreshing outlook to have around, considering who my family is.
“Hi there, beautiful,” he starts, and I watch her melt into a puddle over him.
“Now, Lin, you know I’m gonna have to check your ID if you want to drink tonight.” He tells her with a little wink.
“Oh, Danny. You make me feel so young,” Linda tells him.
“What do you mean, sweetheart? You ARE young,”
“You cut it out now,” She giggles like a schoolgirl, “I look like a bag of bones. I think we both know I’m old.”
“You don’t look a day over 21.” He leans forward, holding himself on the bar. He knows exactly what he’s doing, making his arm muscles flex a little while he listens to her talk. I watch Linda taking little glances at his biceps while he talks.
I see the towel he has sitting over his shoulder starting to slip, and I lean forward to catch it as it falls. Tossing it back over his shoulder, he gives me a slight nod since he is mid-sentence.
“Good save,” Linda quips.
“Thank you, thank you,” I send her a warm smile.
I turn around immediately, bumping into Josh, his teeth on full display, giggling to himself. I haven’t seen him this happy in a while.
“Having fun?” I ask.
“Of course! I’m drunk!”
“I- uh- you’re what?” The panic lacing my voice is intense.
“Jake,” he says while grabbing my shoulders, “I’m kidding.”
Dropping my head back in relief that it was a joke, I’m disappointed I fell for it.
“What a little shit you are,” I can’t help the laugh that escapes me.
“Who are you calling little? I’m five minutes older than you, bub.” He calls back over the music.
I roll my eyes and walk off. He’ll never let that die.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“Excuse me.”
I turn around to find a petite older lady sitting at the bar.
“Oh, I’m sorry, how are you this evening?” I ask.
“Well, it’s much better now,” she batted her eyelashes at me.
“I’m so happy to hear,” I hold in a laugh, “What can I get you to drink?”
“Do you have any Moscato or Rieslings?
I smile as she asks, “Of course I do. Hang on”
Turning around to the fridge where we store our white wine, I giggle quietly.
Looks like I’ve gained my own Linda.
I grab a glass and turn back to her, setting the glass in front of her.
“I don’t know if you know this..” I pause, “I’m sorry, I never got your name?”
“Eleanor”
“Well, Eleanor, I save this specific bottle of Moscato for only the sweetest of girls,” I tell her as I pour the chilled wine into her glass.
“Oh, you stop,” She bashfully waves her hand toward me.
I glance at her with a smirk cemented across my face.
“Here you go, darling,” I slide the glass across the bar to her.
I give her a second to take a sip, and I can hear the quiet hum telling me that the wine is what she was hoping for.
“Actually,” I start, “I’d like to introduce you to someone. I think you would get along a little too well.”
I look over to Linda, who has taken a break from flirting with Daniel for a moment so he can get some work done. Waving her over, she grabs her bag and downs the rest of her drink before walking around to Miss Eleanor and me.
“Linda, this is Eleanor.” I introduce them and watch as they start to make small talk.
I found out that they both are into crafting and that Eleanor has been known to make the vases for the Flower Truck that goes to the Farmer’s Market. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“Where are my boys?” Mom asks loudly.
Somehow, we all heard her over the chatter of the bar. Sam was already closest to her, so he wrapped her up in a hug first.
“I’m getting too old to be out this late, Buttercup,” she tells him.
“Ma, it’s only 10 PM,”
“I know, I know,” she says, patting his chest gently.
Reaching out for Josh, who’s coming in hot for a hug. Wrapping her tightly and rocking her back and forth.
“I love you,” Josh spoke with an inside voice. Something about our mom brought him down to earth.
“Oh, I love you so much, Sunshine,” Mom leans back, holding him at arm’s length, “You did a fantastic job decorating.”
“Thank you, Mama,” he mumbles, pulling her back for another hug.
“Alright, where’s my extra son?” She looks around for a moment before making eye contact with Daniel. She waves him down, watching the smile creep onto his face as he approaches her.
“Oh, my sweet little dumpling,” She has always had a soft spot for him, “I would never leave without a big hug from you.” She pulls him into a bear hug, rubbing his back a few times.
“Missed you so much,” He can’t help the giggle that comes from him at the pet name he gained as a child.
I stand there watching my brothers both say goodbye to our Dad, giving him quick hugs per usual. Dad was never one for the emotional situations, but he’s loosened up over the years. Looking over at me, he gestures for me to go to him.
“I know we’ll see you guys in the morning,” he starts, looking down at the floor with his hands tucked in his pockets, “But I just want you to know. I really am proud of you, kid.”
He looks back up at me, and his eyes look like they’re struggling to fight the emotion.
“Thank you,” Without a second thought, I wrap my arms around him.
He pats my back a few times before pulling away from the hug, “I can tell how much this place means to you, and I’m just so happy for you.”
He points behind me, letting out a small laugh.
I can hardly turn around before being bombarded by my mother.
“I’m glad you made it for the opening night,” I whisper.
“Sweetheart, I wouldn’t miss this,” She whispers back, pressing a few kisses to my cheek, “Can’t tell you enough how proud I am,”
I place a kiss on the side of her head, “I love you, Mum.”
I let Sam walk our parents out, returning to my place behind the bar. Happily watching Josh mingle with customers, it’s nice to see him existing in an environment that suits him. He just beams when he gets to be social and himself; Josh is much too loud and animated for his current job, and he needs something like this.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“We’ll be back for sure!” rings through the bar as the last patrons walk out.
Pulling the doors shut and locking us in, I spin on my heels to face Josh, Sam, and Daniel. We all just stare at each other for a few seconds, even though it feels longer, and we cannot contain the laughter of disbelief. We did it… I did it.
Josh quickly closes the distance between us, pulling me into a hug. Being twins has created a very different bond; he’s my best friend. I don’t think I would have had the courage to purchase the bar if it hadn’t been for him in my ear reminding me that I could do it.
“I just want you to know that,” Josh starts, “I’m so proud of you, and I will always be here to help you, even if you don’t want to ask for it,” his voice shakes slightly.
“Thanks, bub. I love you,” squeezing Josh one more time. I hope he knows I’m always ready to do the same for him.
“I think this calls for celebration, don’t you?” Daniel asks, walking over to us holding beers.
“Cheers!” I holler, raising my beer for everyone to join. We all share a well-deserved celebratory moment after the last six months.
I grab a towel from behind the bar, walking back to one of the tables where Sam collects cans and glasses.
“Isn’t this what Dad used to play all the time in the car?” Sam asks while I’m wiping down the table. I listen a little more closely, realizing it’s absolutely one of our dad’s favorite songs.
“I was a little too tall, could’ve used a few pounds,”
We sing along as it plays, laughing hard as I whip Sam with the towel. He flips me off before walking away with a few glasses in his other hand.
We all slowly cleaned and serenaded each other, which made us giggle like a bunch of little kids.
“Workin’ on our night moves,”
Josh sings dramatically, holding his half-drunk beer like a microphone.
“Mmmm, in the sweet summertime”
This time, he leaned over to me so we could sing together, just like we used to as kids in the back seat.
“We were just young, restless, and bored,” Daniel sings as he walks from the back room.
Suddenly, the piano starts ringing through the bar, and we all find Sam playing along with the jukebox. I’ll let it slide since he was incredibly helpful today.
“And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, to the alley or the trusty woods.”
I finish gathering all the trash and tossing the bags near the back door. Josh still plugging away, cleaning all the glasses while serenading us all.
“And I waited on the thunder,” I sing, turning to point at Josh, knowing that he will absolutely know what to do next.
As expected, Josh belts out the line, “Waited on the thunder.” he always had a way of making the entire room laugh.
“When you just don't seem to have as much to lose.”
I prop open the back door to bring the trash out. A robust and crisp breeze envelopes me. It smells like it could snow.
“Strange how the night moves
With autumn closin' in”
I take a deep breath. The cold air is refreshing after a long night. After tossing the trash, I walk back inside to the sound of hysterical laughter. The three of them bent over in a fit of giggles as they all yelled the backing vocals.
“(Night moves) I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember.”
In the moment, I think to myself, If you can’t beat em, join em. I drape my arm over Josh’s shoulders as I shout with them. Giving him a double pat on his chest as we all laugh together.
“Alright, boys, let’s go home,” I tell them in my finest English accent.
I make my way over to the door, holding it open for them to file through. I took one last glance over to make sure we took care of everything.
“I remember, I remember,” I sing under my breath, flipping the lights off.
